Annotation: In recent years, the integration of social media into language education has transformed traditional teaching practices, particularly in the field of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). This study investigates the effectiveness of social media-based authentic materials in developing learners’ communicative competence. Drawing on contemporary theories of communicative language teaching and task-based instruction, the research explores how platforms such as Telegram, Instagram, and YouTube can facilitate meaningful language use. The study adopts an experimental design involving EFL learners and evaluates improvements in speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. The findings indicate that social media-based authentic materials significantly enhance learners’ communicative competence by providing real-life context, increasing motivation, and promoting interactive learning. The paper concludes with pedagogical recommendations for integrating social media into EFL classrooms.
