Annotation: This research article analyzes the geopolitical significance of water resources in the Middle East, their impact on interstate relations, and their role in regional security. Drawing on the examples of the Nile, Jordan, Tigris, and Euphrates rivers, the Shatt al-Arab basin, and water issues in the Palestinian territories, the study examines conflicts and cooperation mechanisms regarding water use. The primary objective of this research is to analyze the emerging geopolitical tensions in the transboundary river basins of the Middle East and to assess the possibilities of resolving them through "water diplomacy" mechanisms. To achieve this objective, the following tasks were defined: To determine the geographical location and distribution characteristics of water resources in the MENA region; To evaluate hydro-hegemonial actions in the Nile, Jordan, Tigris-Euphrates, and Shatt al-Arab basins and their impact on downstream states; To demonstrate the role of international legal norms and water diplomacy in mitigating the risks of potential "water wars" in the region.
