XITOYNING MADANIY YUMSHOQ KUCHI VA YAPONIYA: RAQAMLI ASRDA RAQOBAT VA O‘ZARO TA’SIR

Author: Paksiutov, Georgi D.; Rasulova, Jasmina Jamshid qizi

Annotation: The article examines the resources, conceptualization, and prospects of China’s soft power strategy, analyzing its interactions with its major political rival, the United States, and Japan, another soft power giant in East Asia. Particular attention is paid to the challenges and opportunities arising from the digitization of culture. It argues that digital creative industries have great potential to disseminate Chinese and Japanese stories, demonstrating important synergies between the creative sectors of the two countries. The article also notes that infrastructure investments are an important part of China’s and Japan’s soft power strategies, which is especially important given the central role that information and communication technologies play in the success of the content industry today. By highlighting the differences in how soft power is perceived in China and the United States, it is argued that China’s strategy stems from a unique understanding of culture. It prioritizes the collective and blurs the sharp dichotomies between the personal and the public, the tangible and the intangible. It is argued that this cultural approach, combined with the appeal of China's education and economic models, makes China's strategy for success in the digital revolution and the development of artificial intelligence even more relevant, especially in countries in the Global South. At a time when the development of artificial intelligence threatens to eliminate many jobs, the narrative of economic empowerment promoted by China is becoming increasingly attractive, especially in countries in the Global South.
