Annotation: In this study, quinoline alkaloid was studied for the bromination reaction of bucharaine. The effect of brominating reagents and solvents was analyzed. Molecular bromine (Br2) and NBS were used for the bromination of bucharine. Solvents such as chloroform, methanol, DMF were used as solvents and the products were isolated with 70 and 72% yields. The obtained products were purified by recrystallization and their purity was determined by the TLC (chloroform:methanol, 9:1).
