Annotation: Motivation is widely recognized as a key factor influencing success in language learning and teaching. This article explores the connection between teacher and student motivation and its role in promoting effective classroom engagement. Drawing on contemporary educational and motivational theories, the paper argues that motivation is a reciprocal process in which teachers and students continuously influence one another. Motivated teachers create supportive, interactive, and learner-centered environments that encourage student participation, while motivated students contribute to teachers’ professional satisfaction and instructional effectiveness. The article highlights the importance of autonomy, competence, relatedness, and positive classroom communication in fostering engagement. It concludes that strengthening both teacher and student motivation is essential for creating productive language learning environments and improving educational outcomes.
