Annotation: This article provides an ethnographic analysis of the calendar customs and rituals associated with the economic activities of the population of the Surkhan–Sherabad oasis. The study examines seasonal rituals related to agriculture, animal husbandry, and other traditional branches of economic life, as well as the factors influencing their formation and their close connection with the folk calendar. Particular attention is paid to the local characteristics of rituals associated with sowing crops, harvesting, threshing grain, rainmaking ceremonies, and livestock breeding, as well as their role in the social and cultural life of the local population. The research is based on field ethnographic materials, historical-ethnographic sources, and relevant scholarly literature. The article substantiates the significance of calendar customs and rituals related to economic activities in preserving the cultural heritage of the oasis population, ensuring the continuity of traditions between generations, and strengthening ethnocultural identity.
