Annotation: This article theoretically analyzes the formation, classification, history of dialectological study, linguistic trends, and dialectology of the dialects in the Surkhandarya region. The phonetic, morphological, and lexical-semantic layers of the dialects are studied within the framework of theoretical dialectology and classified from the perspective of ethnolinguistics and areal linguistics.
