Annotation: This article analyzes the legal and psychological limits of using digital technologies in the notarial mediation process. Although the effectiveness of the online format of organizing and conducting the mediation process has been recognized by many scholars, it scientifically substantiates its fundamental shortcomings related to the human factor, namely, the inability to fully cover the emotional state of the individual, the weakness in ensuring free will, and the loss of eye contact. Although the remote organization and conduct of work in the notarial institute is effective, it is analyzed that conducting notarial mediation online may not guarantee the expected positive result, and in addition, the dominance of the traditional form of communication in national mentality and values may create limits in the digitalization of the field. This study shows that the notarial mediation process is not a simple technical agreement, but an ontological transformation, that is, the issue is not only a change in form, but also a change in the essence and nature of mediation.
