Annotation: This article examines the historical development stages of protective clothing for metallurgical industry workers and analyzes its modern functional and structural characteristics. Particular attention is paid to the requirements for designing protective clothing for metallurgical workers, including functional, ergonomic, hygienic, technological, and environmental aspects. The prospects of using innovative protective materials and smart textile technologies are also considered.
