Annotation: This study analyzes the traditional clothing system of the peoples of Central Asia as a complex ethnocultural phenomenon formed as a result of the interaction of territorial, religious and social factors. It reveals the influence of natural and geographical conditions, climate and types of economy on the material, shape and functional characteristics of clothing. It also shows that religious views determined the closed forms, symbolic decorations and ceremonial significance of clothing. Social factors played an important role in the visual expression of age, gender, marital status and class differences. The results of the study show that traditional clothing has not only practical, but also identification, symbolic and social functions, and that it has changed dynamically in the process of historical development.
