Annotation: This article examines the causes of the Afghan conflict, its impact on security and political stability in the Central and South Asian regions, and the historical border disputes between Afghanistan and Pakistan. In particular, the scientific heritage of local scholars who studied these issues, their activities and views are analyzed in detail. Also, the theoretical approaches and analytical conclusions put forward on the Durand Line, the issue of "Pashtunistan" and the role of the Afghan problem in regional and international politics are described in detail.
