Annotation: This article examines traditional and online methods for teaching the hiragana writing system in Japanese language education. The study provides a comparative analysis of traditional approaches such as table-based instruction, flashcards, repetition exercises, and board-based explanations, alongside online methods including mobile applications, web platforms, video lessons, and interactive exercises. The findings indicate that traditional methods are effective in developing writing skills, while online methods enhance learner motivation and promote autonomous learning. The study concludes that a combination of these approaches represents the most effective strategy for teaching hiragana.
