Annotation: This article analyzes the process of formation of the "Global South" project and its role in Indian foreign policy. It also examines the importance of the "Global South Voice" summits initiated by India and the factors hindering India's leadership in this project, as well as the country's aspiration for leadership in the "Global South" through its role in the G20 and soft power tools.
