Annotation: The article analyzes the socio-functional transformation of small and medium-sized towns in the context of global urbanization, along with models for their classification. Examining the socio-philosophical profile of small urban systems that often remain in the shadow of major megacities, the study categorizes them into agglomerative, autonomous, and networked models. The research utilizes Talcott Parsons' structural-functional theory and G. Lappo's territorial models. Furthermore, the manifestations of these models within the specific conditions of Uzbekistan are highlighted on the basis of localized characteristics.
