Annotation: In this article, the changes in the magnetic and structural properties of barium hexaferrite (BaFe12O19) ceramic samples, synthesized by the solid-state reaction method, were comprehensively investigated after irradiation with various doses of 60Co gamma quanta. Experimental measurements before and after irradiation were carried out using a Cryogenic S700 SQUID magnetometer and X-ray phase analysis (XRD). The results showed that with an increase in the gamma radiation dose, a sharp decrease in saturation magnetization (Ms) from 52.5 emu/g to 40.2 emu/g and coercive force (Hc) from 1060 Oe to 420 Oe is observed, along with a redistribution of the phase composition (a decrease in secondary phases and an increase in the main phase). The observed magnetic alterations are attributed to the generation of oxygen vacancies in the crystal lattice induced by gamma rays and the subsequent weakening of the Fe-O-Fe superexchange interaction.
