Annotation: This thesis analyzes the structural, semantic, and linguocultural features of phraseological units containing the negative forms 不 (bù) and 没 (méi) in Modern Chinese. It comparatively examines the grammatical functions of 不 and 没 in free speech, as well as the additional meanings they acquire when used as components of phraseological units. The study also discusses the semantic characteristics of idiomatic expressions such as 不三不四, 不闻不问, 不知不觉, 没精打采, 没头没脑, 没心没肺, and 没大没小, with particular attention to the issues involved in translating these expressions into Uzbek.
