Annotation: In this article, we will consider the concept of a child, one of the periphery of the concept of "happiness", which is reflected in the ancient traditions, values and customs of the Chinese people. From the phraseological units given below in the article, it can be seen that a smart, well-mannered, comprehensively developed child is also part of happiness. In the countries of the East, young people are wished happiness, expressing blessings to the newly-made family “to give birth to many children (preserve the family)” or “a lot of money (great wealth)”. Such wishes for having many children were common among the Chinese previously and are preserved in phraseological units today.
