Annotation: The thesis examines the development of English writing skills of upper-grade students in general secondary schools with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. The main problems of teaching writing are analysed, and, based on the process approach, a methodological system for using AI tools is proposed, comprising the stages “planning – drafting – feedback – revision – reflection”. The conditions for ensuring academic integrity and student safety when using AI tools are substantiated.
