Annotation: Research on the history of the Seljuks in Turkey began in the early years of the Republic. In this sense, the first work can be considered the article "Sects in the Seljuk Period" published by Mehmet Şarafiddin in 1925. The first comprehensive study is the work published by Mukrimin Halil Yinanç in 1944 under the title "History of Turkey: The Seljuk Period I - The Conquest of Anatolia". During this period, Mehmet Altay Köymen published his first publication in 1946. In the next stage, Ibrahim Kafesöğlu published a book ("The Great Seljuk Empire in the Time of Sultan Malikşoh") and two articles in a row in the 1950s. Although he had disagreements with Osman Turan, Kafesöğlu's article "The Seljuks" published in the "Encyclopedia of Islam" is also of great importance in this field. The most comprehensive study on the history of the Great Seljuks, as well as the first fundamental work, is Osman Turan's "History of the Seljuks and Turkic-Islamic Culture", published in 1965. It is one of the most important works in terms of content and methodology, and is still considered one of the main sources in this field. Ali Sevim began his research in the 1960s and created many works until his death in 2013. Since the 1970s, the works of Erdoğan Mercıl and Coşkun Alptekin have been published. Today, research on the history of the Seljuks is continued by the students of the above-mentioned scholars and their students.
