Annotation: With the deepening of the Belt and Road cooperation, educational and cultural exchanges between China and Central Asian countries have been continuously strengthened. As an important medium of intercultural communication, Chinese language education in Central Asia presents a development trend where diversification and localization coexist. Based on the author’s teaching internship and classroom observations at the Confucius Institute of Ablai Khan University in Kazakhstan, this study adopts a cross-cultural perspective and qualitative research methods to explore the main challenges in Chinese language teaching, innovative teaching practices, and their implications for Chinese education in Uzbekistan. The findings show that linguistic background differences and cultural cognition gaps remain the main difficulties in teaching. However, integrating intelligent teaching tools with cultural immersion activities can effectively stimulate students’ learning motivation and open up new directions for learning. From the perspective of a front-line educator, this study provides a real case for Chinese teaching practice in countries along the Belt and Road, and offers insights into the localization and development of Chinese education in Uzbekistan and other Central Asian countries.
