Annotation: This paper examines how young Sinologists programs in Kazakhstan’s Confucius Institutes act as “cultural bridges” under the Belt and Road Initiative. It argues that their training transcends language, becoming key to Sino-Central Asian understanding. Through participatory research and intercultural communication theory, the study identifies these youths as “cultural translators” and “civil ambassadors.” Findings from teaching and events reveal both outcomes and structural challenges. Recommendations—including long-term exchanges, dual-mentors, and alumni networks—are proposed using “communities of practice” and “cultural capital” frameworks.
