Annotation: The Yuan Dynasty was a crucial period for the integration of multiple ethnic groups in Chinese history. It boasted a vast territory that spanned both the East and the West, where diverse civilizations converged. Yuan Dynasty poets, represented by Yelü Chucai, accompanied the army on its western march and documented their spiritual journeys along the ancient Silk Road through their writings. His poems vividly reflect various aspects of the Silk Road in the Central Asian region, such as local customs, natural conditions, and economic life, thereby recreating the social landscape of Central Asia and the state of East-West communication in the 13th century.
