Annotation: This article presents a comparative lexico-semantic analysis of Uzbek and Chinese anthroponyms. It examines the lexical origins and semantic categories of personal names in both languages, highlighting common themes and distinct characteristics. The study identifies key sources of name etymology (native and borrowed) and explores how cultural values and historical factors are reflected in the meanings of Uzbek and Chinese names. The comparative approach reveals both universal tendencies in naming (such as conveying positive wishes) and specific features unique to each culture’s anthroponymic system.
