Annotation: This article provides a comparative analysis of the specific features of family psychology in Eastern and Western cultures through the prism of gender roles. The purpose of the study is to determine the functional tasks of the father and mother in child-rearing, as well as their influence on the formation of the child's social consciousness. The author examines the transformation of traditional collectivist and modern individualist approaches. In the conclusion, scientific proposals are given for harmonizing the culture of gender equality with family values.
