Annotation: This article posits that, beyond the distinct models of digital capitalism found in the US and China, two separate digital-technological spheres are emerging. It begins by analyzing these forms of digital capitalism and then examines how the US has leveraged institutional differences to impose sanctions on Chinese digital companies. Finally, the article analyzes the formation of US- and China-led digital-technological spheres, focusing specifically on the case of 5G network equipment.
