Annotation: This article studies the development of science during the Karakhanid period, especially the scientific and literary activities of Yusuf Khos Hajib and Mahmud Kashgari. Their works are analyzed comparatively as unique sources reflecting the political, philosophical and cultural and educational life of their time. Yusuf Khos Hajib's work "Kutadgu Bilig" reflects the rise of state administration, political and moral values, and scientific thinking, while Mahmud Kashgari's work "Devonu Lug'otit-Turk" systematically studies Turkic languages and provides scientific coverage of ethnographic data. The article sheds light on the specific features of the development of science and culture during the Karakhanid period through a comparative analysis of their scientific heritage.
