Annotation: The article examines the role of the gender factor in the process of self-identity formation among adolescents from migrant and non-migrant families based on a review of scientific literature. The analysis highlights the impact of labor migration on the family emotional environment and its influence on adolescents’ identity development and gender-related psychological characteristics. The study focuses on explaining the mechanisms of differential formation of self-concept among male and female adolescents under migration conditions.
