Annotation: In this article, the author examines the relationship between language and culture as one of the pressing issues in foreign language learning. Speech culture and linguistic norms are considered to be a reflection of national culture. The author attempts to examine the specifics of Japanese political discourse, which reveals the unique relationship between traditional cultural elements and modern language.
