Annotation: This study analyzes the "Jian-Xiang" (薦享) sacrificial lexicon from the Shang to the Warring States periods. Findings reveal that while the terms remained conceptually distinct, their constituent elements varied significantly across time and subsystems. Element semantics evolved dynamically, influenced by shifts in the broader lexical system. This case study exemplifies the systematic nature of vocabulary change.
