Annotation: This article examines the lexico-semantic mechanisms of text compression in languages with different typological structures. Particular attention is given to a comparative analysis of Chinese, characterized by predominantly monosyllabic root morphemes, and agglutinative languages, in which grammatical and semantic meanings are expressed through the successive attachment of affixes. The study focuses on the ways in which a substantial amount of semantic information can be conveyed through a relatively limited number of linguistic units, with particular emphasis on polysemy, lexical compatibility, compounding, and contextual determination of meaning.
Keywords: text compression, lexico-semantic compression, Chinese language, monosyllabism, agglutination, cumulative morphology, polysemy, compounding, morpheme, comparative typology.
