Annotation: This article provides a theoretical analysis of the psychological characteristics of empathy levels and mutual understanding in multigenerational families. Empathy is examined as an important mechanism of interpersonal relationships in connection with family communication, emotional closeness, and intergenerational harmony. Based on classical psychological theories, the significance of empathy and mutual understanding in multigenerational families is revealed. The conclusions of the article have scientific and practical significance for harmonizing family relationships and strengthening intergenerational ties.
