Annotation: The article examines the phenomena of polysemy and synonymy in the terminology of the solar energy sector in the Chinese language. Polysemy is correctly understood as the use of a single word in several interrelated meanings. This phenomenon often arises as a result of the change and development of the initial meaning of a given word. Scholars emphasize that the presence of numerous polysemous terms in both the humanities and natural sciences creates difficulties in professional communication. In addition to polysemy, the phenomenon of synonymy is also widespread in terminology. In terminology, synonymy is understood as the existence of two, three, or more terms for the same concept. The main features of synonyms are as follows: they denote the same concept; they differ in semantic nuances and stylistic connotations, and they can be interchangeable in context.
Keywords: solar energy terminology, polysemy, synonymy.
