Annotation: This article highlights the specificity of gender policy in Uzbekistan and presents unique findings from studies conducted in the field of gender psychology. It emphasizes the fact that well-substantiated regulatory documents aimed at implementing gender equality between men and women serve as the methodological foundation for conducting empirical research in this area. Based on the author’s own research, as well as scientific works carried out jointly with her students, it is demonstrated that family socialization functions as a psychological mechanism for the formation of gender qualities among representatives of different sexes. The role of the cultural environment and ethnopsychological stereotypes and traditions in family life is also emphasized. In recent years, depending on the family roles performed and traditions of interpersonal relations, positive shifts in gender equality among Uzbek women in our society have been observed.
