Annotation: This year marks the 35th anniversary of Japanese language education in Uzbekistan, which has steadily developed with the support of the country's foreign language education policies and the deepening of diplomatic ties with Japan. A significant expansion has been observed in both the number of educational institutions and the student population. Furthermore, national universities responsible for training Japanese language teachers have been implementing measures to promote academic research and allocate budgetary resources to address scholarly challenges. However, numerous challenges remain unresolved, including inadequate infrastructure to accommodate the growing number of learners, an increased workload for educators, issues in the supply of teaching materials, and insufficient provisions for fostering academic research. To ensure sustainable development in the future, further improvements in the educational system, the enhancement of support structures, and the establishment of a conducive environment for research activities will be essential.
