Author: Лиша, Сюй
Annotation: This article analyzes folklore and ethnographic elements in P. Kulish's first novel in Ukrainian literature, "The Black Council," in particular, everyday life, traditional Ukrainian clothing, customs and rites of engagement and childbirth, traditional Ukrainian musical instruments, Ukrainian folk songs, etc. Folklore and ethnographic elements, as an important component of the novel's cultural space, allow it to become an encyclopedia of Ukrainian life in the 1660s.
