Annotation: This scientific article analyzes the formation of the Jadid movement in Turkestan, its socio-political and cultural roots and stages of development. The main goal of the study is to determine the genesis of Jadid ideas, reveal the dynamics of their development and shed light on their impact on the modernization processes in the region on a scientific basis. The study used methods of historical-analytical, comparative and systematic approaches. The results show that the Jadid movement was formed on the basis of a synthesis of the educational traditions of the East and the West, and it was an important factor in reforming the education system, awakening national consciousness and modernizing society. In conclusion, Jadidism is assessed as a complex educational and reform movement that initiated a new stage in the social thinking of Turkestan.
