Annotation: The article examines the experience of non-linguistic university students in learning a second foreign language. The study explores the organization of language training in non-linguistic universities and substantiates the need to consider the specifics of professionally-oriented education. The paper presents empirical research results from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy students, analyzing language choice factors, learning difficulties, teaching methods, and satisfaction with the educational process. Special attention is given to the impact of second foreign language learning on students' personal development. Based on the findings, practical recommendations for improving the quality of language education are formulated.
