Annotation: This article examines the evolution of market reforms in China from the late 1970s to the present. Key stages of economic transformation are explored: agrarian reforms based on the family tenant system, the creation of special economic zones, the reform of state-owned enterprises, the country's integration into the global trading system after joining the WTO (2001), and the transition from an export-oriented model to innovative development. Along with these achievements, the article examines the structural contradictions of the Chinese model: wealth inequality, environmental costs, demographic crisis, and growing technological confrontation with the United States.
