Annotation: This article analyzes the concept of cultural mediation (intercultural mediation), its distinction from the activity of translation, and the practical experience of its application in European countries. Cultural mediation is presented as a multifaceted process aimed at overcoming linguistic and intercultural differences, fostering social integration, and establishing effective communication. The article emphasizes that despite the varied terminology used across European countries, the core idea remains the same — bridging intercultural divides. The paper highlights the application of cultural mediation in areas such as healthcare, education, and public services, as well as its broader social significance.
